Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Cookies
|Shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sifted flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Semisweet chocolate pieces||6 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Chopped pecans||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream together shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Blend in vanilla.
Sift together flour and baking soda.
Add dry ingredients, alternately with buttermilk, to creamed mixture; mix well.
Stir in chocolate pieces and pecans.
Drop by teaspoonsful about 2 inches aparton greased baking sheets.
Bake in 350-degrees oven for 12-15 minutes or until done.
Remove from baking sheets; cool on racks.
These are my favorite chocolate chip cookies.
