|Baking powder||2 1⁄2 Milliliter (1/2 Teaspoon)|
|Butter||8 Ounce (225 Gram)|
|Brown sugar||8 Ounce (225 Gram)|
|Golden syrup||8 Ounce (225 Gram)|
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5. Sieve together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.
Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Stir in the sugar.
Warm the syrup and add to the flour mixture, mix to a stiff dough.
Place walnut sized balls well apart on a greased tray, flatten slightly.
Bake on the second or third shelf for ten minutes until golden.
