Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Milk 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Tablespoon
  Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream butter and add sugar gradually.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; cream well.
Add flour and baking powder, sifted together.
Mix creamed mixture and dry ingredients.
Chill for 10 minutes.
Drop by teaspoonsfuloncookie sheet and press thin with a glass that has been dipped in water, and then into sugar.
Top with nutmeat or cherry.
Bake at 400° until very light brown.
