Ingredients
  Whole wheat flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
  Grated nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Solid vegetable shortening 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), melted
  Honey 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Apple juice/Cider 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a small bowl, combine melted shortening, honey, and apple juice. Stir to mix well. Make a well in center of flour mixture; pour honey mixture into well. With a fork, stir mixture until a stiff dough forms. Knead dough into a ball; divide into 4 balls and set aside.
2. On lightly greased cookie sheets, roll out each ball of dough to make a 10-inch square. With a knife or pastry wheel, cut each dough square into sixteen 2 1/2-inch square crackers. With tines of a fork, pierce each cracker 3 times.
3. Bake 15 minutes, or until edges begin to brown. Carefully remove crisp outer crackers to rack. Separate 4 inner crackers and any others that don't seem crisp. Return to oven 5 minutes longer, then remove to racks and let cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container.
