Brown and White Cookies
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Powdered sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sifted cake flour||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Almond extract||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Work the shortening with a spoon, until fluffy and creamy.
Sift sugar, then add to shortening slowly while continuing to work with a spoon until light.
Add unbeaten egg whites; mix slightly.
Then add the flour gradually and the extracts while creaming.
Drop by teasp onto greased cookie sheets; spread with spatula.
Bake in a moderately hot oven of 400°F for 8-10 min., or until edges are golden brown.
