Ingredients
  Old fashioned molasses 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Non hydrogenated lard/Shortening 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cloves 2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Tablespoon
  Anise seed 1 Tablespoon, crushed with a rolling pin
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Tablespoon, dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
  Soy flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Nutritional yeast 1 Tablespoon
  Whole wheat flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Unbleached flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
Directions

Preheat oven to 300°.
Thoroughly cream molasses, sugar, and lard.
Mix in spices, then the rest of the ingredients until thoroughly blended.
If dough is not stiff enough, add more flour.
With floured hands, roll into balls approximately 1-inch diameter.
Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool thoroughly on wire rack.
