Spiced Hermits Cookie
|Flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Powdered cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Powdered cloves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Egg||1 , well beaten|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Melted butter/Margarine / shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. Start oven, set at Hot, 425° F. Rub a cookie sheet with margarine or shortening.
2. Sift the flour with the salt, baking powder and spices.
3. Combine the egg with the sugar and beat thoroughly. Stir in the flour mixture and mix well. Add the cooled butter, margarine or shortening; stir in the raisins and mix.
4. Drop from a teaspoon on the cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes, or until delicately browned.
