|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
Combine butter or margarine, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in mixing bowl; cream until fluffy.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar and baking powder.
Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts.
Shape into 2-inch rolls; wrap in waxed paper.
Chill 2-3 hours.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Place dough on board and Cut into 1/8-inch slices with electric knife; place on un-greased cooky sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes.
