No Bake Cookie Balls
|Semi sweet chocolate pieces||6 Ounce (1 package, 1 cup)|
|White corn syrup||3 Tablespoon|
|Instant coffee powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Hot water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sifted confectioners sugar||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla wafers||3 Dozen, finely crushed to make 1 3/4 cups (packaged)|
|Confectioners sugar||2 Tablespoon (adjust quantity as needed)|
1. In double boiler, over hot, not boiling, water, melt chocolate pieces; remove from heat.
2. Stir in corn syrup, coffee dissolved in hot water, 3 cups sugar, walnuts, and crumbs.
3. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in confectioners' sugar. Store in covered container a day or so to ripen. Makes about 5 dozen.
Choco-orange balls: Substitute 1/3 cup orange juice for coffee and hot water.
SURPRISE BALLS : Cut 1 large nutted candy bar into 4 dozen small pieces. Around each piece mold some of chocolate mixture into 1-inch ball; complete as directed.
