Banana Spice Cookies

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Bananas 1 Cup (16 tbs), mashed
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (gold medal)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
Directions

Mix well shortening, sugar, and eggs.
Stir in bananas.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Mix dry ingredients and stir in.
Blend in nuts.
Chill about 1 hr.
Heat oven to 375° (quick mod.).
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 min.
If desired, frost with a thin confectioners' sugar icing.
