Ingredients
  Soft butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg yolks 2
  Almond extract 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 2 2⁄3 Cup (42.67 tbs), sifted
  Ground almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg whites 2
  Blanched almonds 1 Tablespoon
  Candied cherries 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks and almond extract until fluffy.
Add flour and ground almonds and blend well.
Chill several hours.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Shape dough into small balls.
