Nut Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Pound
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped nuts 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream the butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until well-blended.
Add the flour.
Chill this mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Form the mixture into long rolls about 1/2 inch in diameter.
Cut these rolls into 3-inch lengths.
Place them on a well-greased cookie sheet.
Brush each roll with beaten egg and sprinkle it with nuts and sugar.
Bake them at 325°F for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
