Basic Refrigerator Cookie
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
In mixer bowl, cream together butter and sugar; blend in egg and vanilla.
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir into creamed mixture.
On waxed paper shape in two 6-inch rolls.
Wrap in clear plastic wrap; chill thoroughly.
Reshape slightly before using.
Carefully cut in thin slices.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove to wire rack to cool.
