|Butter/Margarine||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened|
|Powdered sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Quick cooking oats/Regular oats||1 Cup (16 tbs) (uncooked)|
Cream butter and sugar.
Blend in egg and vanilla extract.
Combine flour, salt and baking powder; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir In oats.
Chill dough several hours or overnight.
Roll out on lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes with floured assorted cutters.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
