Anise Tea Cookies
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Nuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), finely chopped|
|Anise seeds||1 Tablespoon|
|Salad oil||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Powdered sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Orange juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine flour and salt.
Stir in nuts and anise seed.
Add salad oil and mix very well.
Combine sugar, orange juice and vanilla extract: add to salad oil-flour mixture and mix well.
Mixture will appear somewhat dry and crumbly.
Shape with hands into rolls about 3/4 inch in diameter and 2 inches long, leaving rolls straight or curving them into crescent shapes.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
If desired, roll warm cookies In powdered sugar.
Cookies improve with storage.
