|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cream of tartar/Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Pecan meats||2 Cup (32 tbs), broken fine|
Boil water and sugar until it spins a thread.
Have egg whites well-beaten.
Pour the syrup slowly over whites, beating constantly, to avoid lumping.
Add nut meats.
Spread mixture on little round cakes or crackers.
Bake very slowly in oven until a golden brown, keeping the oven door open.
Garnish each with cherry.
A pretty cake for a child's party.
