|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped candied cherries||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped pecans||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Semi-sweet chocolate||1 Ounce, melted|
|Poppy seed||2 Tablespoon|
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and vanilla extract; beat thoroughly.
Combine flour, salt and baking powder.
Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Divide dough into 3 parts.
Add cherries to one part, pecans and chocolate to another and poppy seed to the third.
Line a small narrow loafpan with waxed paper; pack chocolate-nut dough into the bottom.
Over this, pack cherry dough, then the poppy seed mixture.
Cover with waxed paper and place In refrigerator to harden.
When ready to bake, turn out of pan; slice thin: place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 400° for 10 minutes
