Frosted Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Shortening 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (light or dark)
  Baking soda 3 Teaspoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All purpose flour 5 1⁄2 Cup (88 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and molasses.
Dissolve baking soda in water; stir into molasses mixture.
Stir in remaining ingredients except Frosting.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Heat oven to 375°.
Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board.
Cut with floured 2 3/4-inch round cookie cutter or other favorite cutter.
Place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool; generously frost bottoms of cookies with Frosting.
Let stand 2 to 3 hours before storing to allow frosting to dry.
