Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Unbleached white flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Single acting baking powder 1 Teaspoon (Royal Brand)
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , lightly beaten
  Pure vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soy grits 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Walnut halves 18 (Approximately)
Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix the egg with the vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the egg mixture to the creamed mixture.
4. Stir in the soy granules. Place rounded teaspoons of the mixture on oiled baking sheets and decorate each cookie with a walnut half. Bake for 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
