|Powdered sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Margarine/Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Gold Medal)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1 Teaspoon|
|Egg yolk paint||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Mix powdered sugar, margarine, egg, vanilla and almond extract.
Stir in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
Cover and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
Heat oven to 375°.
Divide dough into halves.
Roll each half inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board.
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Prepare Egg Yolk Paint; paint designs on cookies with small paintbrushes.
Bake until edges are light brown, 7 to 8 minutes.
