Almond Spritz Cookies
|Butter/Margarine||1 Cup (16 tbs) (2 Sticks)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Blanched almonds||1 Cup (16 tbs), ground|
|All purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Ornamental frosting||2 Teaspoon|
1. Beat butter or margarine with sugar until fluffy in large bowl with electric mixer at high speed; beat in eggs, vanilla, and almond extract. Stir in ground almonds; gradually sift in flour, blending well to make a soft dough.
2. Divide evenly into 6 parts. Flavor, shape, and decorate each variety, following individual recipes.
3. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 12 minutes, or until firm. Remove from cookie sheets with spatula; cool completely on wire racks, then decorate according to following directions.
