Mix In The Pan Brownies
|Vegetable shortening||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cocoa powder||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
1. Melt shortening in 8x8x2-inch bak ing pan over low heat. Stir in sugar. Cool for 5 minutes.
2. Break eggs into pan with vanillal; beat with fork until blended.
3. Measure flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa into sifter. Sift into mixture in baking pan. Mix thoroughly with fork. Add walnuts. Smooth top.
4. Bake in a moderate oven (350°) 30 minutes, or until center springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip. Cool on wire rack. Cut into 16 squares.
