|Sifted flour||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated lemon rind||1 Tablespoon|
Add sugar, cream well.
Blend in egg, lemon rind and juice.
Add dry ingredients, blend well.
Chill for easier handling.
Shape into balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Snip balls in half.
3/4 the way through, using floured scissors.
Snip each in thirds.
Lay the petals down on sheet.
Decorate centers with nuts or cherry halves.
Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes.
