Coconut Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  White sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Bread flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 2 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Almond flavoring/Lemon flavoring 1 Teaspoon (Leveled)
  Coconut 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Cream butter, shortening, and sugars.
Add the well beaten egg, and beat thoroughly.
Add the flour which has the baking soda and cream of tartar in it.
Salt next.
Add 1 teaspoon of either almond or lemon flavoring, then the cocoa-nut.
Make small balls with fingers and place on greased cookie sheet.
Dip a fork in cold water and flatten each ball.
Cook from 12 to 15 minutes in 350° F. oven.
Makes 70 to 80 cookies.
