Orange-Nut Refrigerator Cookies
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Pound, softened|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (firmly packed)|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange peel||2 Teaspoon, grated|
|Regular all purpose flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finley minced|
Mix together butter and sugars until blended; add egg and beat until fluffy.
Stir in orange peel.
Sift flour, measure, and mix with the soda, salt, and nuts; add in small portions to butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Divide dough in half and shape each into a roll 7 inches long and 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper; chill until firm.
Cut into slices about 1/8 inch thick.
Bake on greased cooky sheets in a 375° oven for 12 minutes, or until edges are very lightly browned.
