Congo Squares

Ingredients
  Melted butter/Butter substitute 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Brown sugar 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Sifted flour 2 3⁄4 Cup (44 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chocolate chips 250 Gram (1 Package)
Directions

Melt shortening; stir in brown sugar.
Cool slightly and add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add flour mixture, nuts and chocolate chips.
Spread into lightly-greased 10 x 15 x 3/4 pan which has been lined with brown paper.
Bake 25 minutes at 350°.
Cut into squares when almost cool.
