Peanut Brittle

Ingredients
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Light corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Teaspoon
  Peanuts 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Directions

Combine sugar, syrup, and water in a heavy skillet.
Cook over a low heat until mixture reaches 230° or until it spins a thread about 2 inches long when dropped from a spoon.
Stir in peanuts and continue cooking to 300° or until a few drops tested in cold water separate into threads which are hard and brittle.
Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour onto a greased platter, spreading as thin as possible.
When cold, break into pieces.
