|Unsalted butter||8 Tablespoon, softened|
|Dark brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Oatmeal||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), uncooked|
Preheat the oven to 350° and lightly butter two 11-by-17-inch baking sheets.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a mixing bowl.
Cream the butter, the brown sugar and the granulated sugar together by mashing them against the side of another mixing bowl with a wooden spoon.
Stir in the egg, the vanilla exttact and the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth.
Beat in the flour mixture, a little at a time, then add the oatmeal, stirring until the mixture is well blended.
Roll the dough and cut into cooies cutter, put onto the baking sheets, leaving space between for the cookies to expand.
Bake for 12 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly browned on top.
