Cherry Melting Moments
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Rolled oats||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Candied maraschino cherries||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350 Â°F.
Cream butter and sugar until soft and white.
Beat in egg.
Add flour and salt sifted together; mix to firm dough.
Dampen hands; roll dough into balls about size of walnut.
Roll in rolled oats.
Put on greased baking pans; allow room to spread.
Flatten a little; place cherry in center of each cookie.
Bake 20 minutes.
