Homemade Spritz Cookies
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Powdered sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Egg yolk||1 , beaten|
|Cake flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Sugar crystals||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Colored Coarse)|
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Add powdered sugar; beat well, until soft and creamy.
Add almond extract and egg yolk.
Gradually stir in sifted flour and salt.
Put into cookie press.
Using various forms of nozzles, as available, press out shapes onto ungreased baking sheet.
Brush with egg white beaten until frothy with few drops water.
Sprinkle with colored crystals or with chopped nuts or decorettes.
Bake about 8 minutes or until very lightly browned.
