Continental Cream Cheese Slice

Ingredients
  Plain flour 6 Ounce
  Custard powder 2 Ounce
  Icing sugar 3 1⁄4 Tablespoon (4 Dessertspoons)
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter milk 4 Ounce
  Sultanas 2 Ounce
  Lemon 1 , rind grated
  Lemon juice 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon (2 Dessertspoons)
Directions

Pastry Sift into basin the flour, custard powder, icing sugar and baking powder.
Rub in butter, add sufficient milk to make into a stiff dough Roll out § of the pastry and line 7 in. x 11 in. greased tin, bringing pastry 1/2 inch up the sides.
Prick base and bake in moderate oven, Mark 4,350°F., 10 minutes; cool.
Filling Cream butter with cream cheese until soft and creamy.
Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
Gradually add to cream cheese mixture, beat until smooth.
Fold in sultanas, lemon rind, and juice.
Smooth filling over cooked pastry shell.
