The baked banana and orange compote is a cooked and tangy compote mellowed with the flavor of bananas. Spiced with cinnamon, the baked banana and orange compote is one of my favorite desserts and is best served warm with fresh cherries as garnish.
2 Large, peeled
4 Large, peeled and cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cherries with stems
Cut oranges into 1/4 inch slices; cut slices in half.
Arrange orange slices in bottom of a shallow casserole; sprinkle with cinnamon.
Dip bananas in orange juice; arrange over oranges.
Spoon remaining orange juice over fruit.
Bake at 400Â°F 15 minutes.
Serve warm in compote dishes; garnish with cherries.
