Dried Fruit Compote

The dried fruit compote is a sweet and fruity dessert made with cooked dry fruits in marsala or orange juice. Simmered to tenderness, the fruit compote can be served warm or chilled withsome whipped cream.
Ingredients
  Prunes 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 Milliliter)
  Dried apricots 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 Milliliter)
  Dried cherries 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)
  Chopped candied ginger 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)
  Marsala/Orange juice 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 Milliliter)
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)
  Maple syrup/Honey / brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Milliliter)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 Milliliter)
Directions

Place prunes, apricots, cherries, ginger, Marsala, lemon juice, maple syrup and water in saucepan.
Bring to boil.
Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes, or until fruit is tender.
Serve warm or cold.
