Fruit Compote

The fruit compote is a cooked fruit dessert made with a mdeley of fruits like oranges, pears and peaches. With added pineapples and cherries, the fruit compote is flavored with the fruit juices and brandy. Served hot or cold it goes well with cool whip or just by itself.
Ingredients
  Mandarin oranges 18
  Canned pear halves 6
  Canned peach halves 6
  Canned pineapple slice 3
  Maraschino cherries 6
  Margarine 1⁄4 Pound
  Packed dark brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Fruit liquid 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brandy 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Place drained fruit in shallow baking dish.
Dot with margarine.
Dribble with brown sugar.
Pour fruit liquid on top.
Add brandy.
Heat 25 minutes in 325 degrees F oven.
Serve cold or hot.
Serve with cool whip.
