Hot Fruit Compote

Ingredients
  Canned peach/Apricot halves 1 Pound (1 Can)
  Canned pear halves 1 Pound (1 Can)
  Canned plums/Greengage plums 1 Pound (1 Can, Purple Or Greengage)
  Firmly packed light brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Slivered orange rind 1 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F.
Drain and measure 1 cup syrup from canned fruits and mix with sugar, lemon juice, and orange rind.
Arrange fruits in a large casserole, add sugar mixture, and dot with butter.
Bake, uncovered, 1/2 hour; serve hot with cream or cool and ladle over ice cream or pound cake.
