Fruit Filled Coffee Ring
|Hot roll mix package||1|
|Grated lemon peel||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted|
|Golden raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped dried apricots||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Chopped prunes||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Tablespoon, melted|
Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions; add lemon peel with the dry mix.
Let dough rise according to directions.
Mix butter with the sugar, raisins, apricots, prunes, and walnuts; set aside.
When dough is doubled, punch down and turn onto a lightly floured surface; roll into a 16x12-inch rectangle.
Top dough evenly with fruit filling; roll up, starting with long edge.
Snip off both ends on a diagonal; reserve end pieces for center.
Cut the roll diagonally into 12 slices; arrange slices in a circle on a large greased baking sheet with pointed ends out and each slice overlapping slightly.
Place reserved ends in center; brush top with melted butter.
Cover; let rise in a warm place until doubled.
Bake at 350°F about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
While still warm, spread with Orange Glaze and, if desired, sprinkle with grated orange peel.
