Maple Nut Coffee Twist
|Hot roll mix||1 Pound (1 Pillsbury Package)|
|Warm water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Maple flavor||2 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Melted butter/Margarine||6 Tablespoon, melted|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), chopped|
|Powdered sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast (from mix) in warm water.
Stir in egg, sugar and maple flavoring.
Add the flour mixture and blend well.
Knead on a floured surface for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth and satiny.
Place in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size, for about 30 to 45 minutes.
Prepare the filling.
Divide the dough equally into 3 balls.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one ball of dough to a 12 inch circle.
Fit onto bottom of a greased 12 inch pizza pan.
Brush dough with 2 tbs.
melted butter and sprinkle with about 1/3 cup of the filling.
Use a glass to mark a 2 inch circle in center of dough (do not cut through the dough).
Cut from outside edge just to circle forming 16 pie shaped wedges.
Twist each of the 3 layered wedges 5 times.
Let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size, for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
Drizzle with glaze while still warm.
Serve warm or cold.
Filling: Combine all ingredients & mix well.
Glaze: In a small mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, maple flavoring and enough milk until thin enough to spread.
Tip: Pillsbury Vanilla Ready to Spread Frosting may be used for the glaze.
Heat 3/4 cup over low heat until thin enough to drizzle.
Stir in Maple Flavoring.
