|Drip grind coffee||1⁄2 Pound|
|Boiling water||4 1⁄4 Quart|
Tie coffee loosely in a fine cheesecloth or a light muslin bag.
Drop the bag into the boiling water in a large covered kettle.
Cover the kettle, turn the heat very low, and let the coffee steep (stand) for 15 min., moving the bag around in the kettle occasionally.
Then remove the bag, and serve as needed, keeping the remainder hot, but not boiling, over a very low heat.
