Cranberry Coffee Ring

Ingredients
  Butter 1 Tablespoon, melted
  Whole berry cranberry sauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Walnuts 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped
  Buttermilk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), baking
  Orange juice 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Powdered sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 2 Teaspoon
Directions

Line bottom of 9-inch round glass deep pie dish with wax paper.
Place a small drinking glass, right side up, in center of dish.
Set aside.
In small mixing bowl, combine butter, cranberry sauce, 1/4 cup sugar and walnuts.
Spread mixture evenly around glass in baking dish.
In medium mixing bowl, combine baking mix, orange juice, egg, 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
Mix well.
Spread over cranberry mixture.
Microwave at medium high (7) 6 minutes.
Continue microwaving at high (10) 3 to 5 minutes until cake springs back when lightly touched.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Invert onto serving plate.
Cool slightly.
In small bowl, combine powdered sugar and vanilla.
Stir in enough water to make desired consistency.
Drizzle over cake.

I'm making blueberry buckle,another variation of coffee cake,in the microwave. I thought I'd heard of placing a small glass cup of water in the center. With yours,the empty glass won't break,right? Next time,I'll try doing it w/an empty glass-just wasn't sure. Glad you're on the same page,though!!
