Coffee Ring Deluxe
|Scalded buttermilk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dry yeast||1⁄4 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Whole wheat flour||2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)|
|Honey||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), warmed (For Making Filling)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (For Making Filling)|
|Cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon (For Making Filling)|
|Grated orange peel||2 Tablespoon (For Making Filling)|
|Orange juice||1 Tablespoon (For Making Filling)|
Combine buttermilk, butter or oil, water, honey, and salt.
Allow mixture to cool to lukewarm, then add yeast and mix well.
Blend in egg, then cover and allow to set in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
Add flour and mix until dough is well blended and soft.
Roll out on well-floured board forming a 1/4-inch square.
Combine honey, nuts, cinnamon, orange peel, juice, and milk powder.
Spread filling evenly over dough.
Roll as for jelly roll, cut into 1-inch slices, and arrange in layers in well-greased, 8-inch ring mold.
Cover with damp cloth and let rise in warm place until light, about 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Bake ring in preheated oven for about 40 minutes.Remove from pan immediately and baste with any syrup remaining in the pan.
