Cod In A Pot
|Cod slices/Cod fillet||8|
|Green bacon||2 Ounce|
Fry the bacon slices lightly, put them in a fireproof dish.
Now add a layer of sliced fried onions, and on them lay some pieces of raw fish.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper: now add a layer of sliced boiled potatoes, then more fish and so on, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
Add enough water just to cover; cook in a gentle oven, without a lid, so that the water almost entirely evaporates.
If liked, milk, previously brought to boiling point, may be used instead of water.
