Homemade Raw Caramel

Raw Caramel Recipe from Joy Houston, author of The Delicious Revolution and Rocking Body Raw Food.
Ingredients
  Coconut oil 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Almond butter 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Syrup of maple 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla essence 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon (Start With A Pinch)
Directions

MAKING
1. Blend all ingredients, starting with a 1/4 teaspoon of the salt, in a food processor.
2. Pulse until well combined, then let it process for several minutes.
3. Taste to check salt level and add more if desired.
4. The mixture will warm slightly in the processor and the textures will meld, eventually forming a gooey, delicious caramel.

SERVING
5. Serve it with freshly sliced apples, as a topping for your favorite raw vegan brownies or to fill raw cacao truffles. It works for just about any sweet treat you want to serve up.
