|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened|
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Confectioner' s sugar||3 Tablespoon (confectioners)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Nuts||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped|
|Flaked coconut||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Maraschino cherries||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), quartered|
Mix butter, 1 cup flour and confectioners' sugar.
Press in bottom of 8-inch square pan.
Bake in preheated slow oven (325°F.) 20 minutes.
Mix remaining 1/4 cup flour and other ingredients and spread on pastry.
Bake about 30 minutes longer.
Cool and cut in 16 squares.
