How To Toast Coconut
Step 1: In a sealable plastic bag put coconut flakes. Then you may add 2 or 3 tbsp. of confectioners' sugar to the bag and shake it.
Step 2:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using temperatures lower than this will take longer than it needs to and using higher temperatures may cause the coconuts to brown too much.
Step 3: Lay the coconut flakes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Place the baking sheet in the oven.
Step 4: Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Shake the baking sheet to turn the coconut flakes over every few minutes. Make sure the coconut flakes are in a single layer when you return them to the oven.
Step 5: Remove from oven when the coconut flakes are lightly brown.
Use toasted coconut in your dish or add them as toppings to your favorite desert. You will love it!
