|Firmly packed brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Oats||2 Cup (32 tbs), uncooked (Quick-Cooking Or Regular)|
|Flaked coconut||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream shortening and sugar well.
Add eggs and beat thoroughly.
Stir in water and vanilla extract.
Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt and add to mixture.
Stir In the oats and coconut.
Drop by teaspoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
