This recipe has orinated in St Lucia and is served as a morning beverage there. It is popular in many parts of Carribean and made with many variations.
2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
2 Tablespoon, grated
1⁄2 Teaspoon, grated
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Boil water and bay leaf and cinnamon to it. Let it boil for 15 minutes. Now add coca stick and nutmeg. Lower the heat and keep stirring it. Remove vanila from the pod using a sharp knife. Dissolve vanilla in mixture and empty the pod too. Add sugar and sauce thickener. Lower the heat and simmer it for 5 minutes. Then add milk or cream or evaporated milk. Simmer it for 2 minutes and remove strain and serve hot.
