The BLU Cocktails

The Urban Swank Girls are hanging out in the "Cocktail Kitchen" with Bartender Ashley of BLU in Sugarland, TX. She shows us how to make two special cocktails: The Orient A L'Orange and the Lower Ninth Ice Tea. You will discover that every cocktail has a story!
Ingredients
  Canton ginger liqueur 5 33 (For The Orient A LOrange)
  Absolute mandarin vodka 5 33 (for a smoother taste use Grey Goose Mandarin, For The Orient A LOrange)
  Orange blossom water 1 33 (For The Orient A LOrange)
  Thai basil 2 36 (For The Orient A LOrange)
  Soda 1 33 (For The Orient A LOrange)
  Orange juice 1 33 (For The Orient A LOrange) (Optional)
  Ice cube 2 39 (For both cocktails)
  Wild tea vodka 1 33 (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Overproof rum 1 33 (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Vieux carre absinthe 1 33 (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Lemon 1 Medium (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Simple syrup 1 Ounce (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Mint bitters 1 Dash (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
  Club soda 1 Ounce (For the Lower Ninth Ice Tea)
Directions

FOR THE ORIENT A L'ORANGE

MAKING
1. In a cocktail shaker, add the ice and pour in the Canton Ginger Liqueur, Absolute Mandarin Vodka, and orange blossom water.
2. Add the basil leaves, torn into bits.
3. Cover and shake until well blended and chilled.
4. Add the soda and orange juice if using and shake again.

SERVING
5. Pour into a rock glass and serve.

FOR THE LOWER NINTH ICE TEA
MAKING
1. In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup ice, and top with the wild tea vodka, overproof rum and vieux carre absinthe.
2. Add a generous squeeze of lemon and the simple syrup. Cover and shake well.

SERVING
3. Add a dash on mint bitters to a high ball glass, and pour the cocktail on top.
4. Top up with soda if needed.
5. Serve garnished with a lemon wedge if you like.
