A Good Spicy Bloody Mary
|Tomato juice||1 Quart|
|Fresh lemon juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Prepared horseradish||2 Tablespoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Worcestershire sauce||To Taste (Several Hefty Dashes)|
|Tabasco||To Taste (Several Hefty Dashes)|
|Vodka||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Chopped basil leaves||1 Teaspoon (For Garnish)|
Combine all ingredients except vodka and basil in a large saucepan.
Heat to simmering for 5 or 6 minutes.
Pour a jigger of vodka into an ice-filled red-wine goblet or tall thin glass.
Add the Bloody Mary mixture and top with chopped basil and a basil leaf.
