Hooker Cocktail-Raising The Bar With Jamie Boudreau

Not THAT hooker! Canon is not that kind of place. The Hooker Cocktail is named after John Lee Hooker, the blues guitar legend. As you might imagine, the cocktail contains some Bourbon, some Scotch and some beer. Octoberfest is here and this is the perfect cocktail to enjoy fermented, brewed and distilled grains of all kinds. Crank some blues and celebrate!

Ingredients

Egg white 1/2 Ounce
Bourbon 1 Ounce
Averna amaro 1/2 Ounce
Scotch 1/4 Ounce (something peaty)
Boker's bitters/Bitter truth aromatic bitters 3 Dash
Bitter truth chocolate bitters 2 Dash
Fresh orange juice 3/4 Ounce
Simple syrup 1/4 Ounce
Malty belgian beer 1 Ounce

Directions

MAKING:

Mix together egg white, bourbon, averna, scotch, bitters, chocolate bitters, orange juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker and shake well to emulsify all ingredients. An emulsifier or frother can be used as well.

Add ice to the shaker and shake well again.

Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe.

Top with beer and stir gently before serving.
