Clam Savory

Ingredients
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Small, peeled, finely chopped
  Green pepper 1⁄2 , finely chopped
  Canned clams 7 1⁄2 Ounce, drained, chopped
  Grated cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Tomato puree 1 Tablespoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Sherry 1 Tablespoon
  Cayenne pepper dill pickle 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Buttered toast 5 (Hot)
Directions

Heat the butter in a saute pan, add onion and green pepper, and saute for 3 minutes.
Add clams, cheese, tomato puree, worcestershire sauce, sherry and cayenne pepper, and cook for a few minutes until the cheese has melted, stirring all the time.
Put a thin slice of dill pickle on each slice of toast and serve the clam mixture on top.
